Fixed Route Service

main office on 2nd Street to points along South 11th Street/M-51, but also connects passengers to the South Bend TRANSPO stop at Auten Rd. and 933. The route stops at many of the major business destinations along the way, including Harding’s, Rite Aid, Wal-Mart, Big Lots, and Martin’s. The route also stops at the Niles Library and several of the area’s apartment and senior living facilities. The Route 2 buses leave the main office on the hour during service hours.

Flex Option/Route Deviation

The route bus may deviate upon request to access destinations along the route that are not officially designated stops. Riders wishing to use this service must call in advance.  For more information, contact the DART office.

Hours of Operation
Route 2 operates Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. 

Fares
Fixed Route rides are $2.00 ($1.00 reduced fare*).  Children age 2-11 may ride for half fare.  Children under 2 ride free. Payments must be made in exact change at the time of the ride using cash, a DART punch ticket, or a DART token.

Connection to South Bend, Indiana bus system TRANSPO

Connection Times: 10:30 am, 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm

Niles Dial A Ride Transportation (DART), along with the South Bend Public Transportation Corporation (TRANSPO), is pleased to offer fixed route service to the South Bend area. Niles Dial A Ride Transportation's fixed route (known as Route 2) will offer service to Auten Rd. at SR 933.

It is possible for residents to realize the benefits of the services available in South Bend, without having to rely on a personal automobile. In addition, South Bend area residents will have the opportunity to access popular destinations and employment opportunities in Niles.

Now you and your family can enjoy not only the great activities in Niles and the surrounding area, you can also plan visits to activities and other services in South Bend. Go to the City of South Bend's website to view events and then call us at DART.

Service between South Bend and Niles will be offered by Niles DART between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm weekdays only. DART buses will be at Auten Rd. at 10:30 am, 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm. From Auten Rd., riders can connect to TRANSPO's Route 5, and then travel almost anywhere within South Bend using the fixed route system offered by TRANSPO. Riders should expect to pay the regular fares for both DART and TRANSPO. More information on TRANSPO service and fares is available online at www.sbtranspo.com .
